The Autumnal Chickens

I haven’t posted any chicken photos in awhile, so here are a few shots from yesterday evening. They do not hold still well when they’re eating.

They’re laying five eggs per day most days, with occasional days of four to seven (!!).

The girls have scratched away nearly every scrap of grass in their enclosure, so I supplement with plenty of greens and overripe veggies from the garden, and occasionally let them roam a little bit in the yard.

Mike Neir the Chicken House Engineer has been working very hard on the coop, and when it’s all set, I’ll post photos of the fruits of his labor.
